Job Description

Global Medical Response (GMR) offers Service Members the opportunity to gain valuable civilian work experience in the medical response industry through the DOD Skill Bridge program.
Under the Skill Bridge program, GMR hosts active‑duty U.S. Military members for skilled employment training during the last 180 days of their active‑duty service. The program lasts up to 180 days.

Schedule
:
In‑office, 12‑hour rotating shifts; days and nights available; monthly new starts.
This position is responsible for actively navigating 911 callers to appropriate patient care across the health continuum. Nurses telephonically assess patients and follow established, evidence‑based protocols to match patient needs with local or virtual resources. Additional duties include remote monitoring, medical screening, patient education, leadership opportunities, and mentoring as assigned.
Essential Functions / Duties- Demonstrate ability to function as a Registered Nurse or Licensed Nurse.
- Telephonically assess patients and navigate care using evidence‑based protocols.
- Demonstrate effective communication skills.
- Collaborate with team members, patients, caregivers, referral sources, physicians, facility staff, and community.
- Learn and use computer and required software.
- Manage time, resources, and documentation requirements.
- Provide excellent customer service.
Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years nurse experience in indirect urgent patient care. Ideally in Emergency or Acute Care settings.
- Behavioral Health experience.
- Care Coordination experience.
- Phone assessment and/or triage experience preferred; training offered.
- Experience with clinical data gathering and ethical principles.
Education:
- Compact License Nurse or RN License required.
- Additional CA, DC, NY, MI, and/or OR licensure preferred.
- Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Public Health, or related field preferred.
Skills:
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication.
- Active listening with relevant follow‑up questions.
- General nursing skills per accepted standards of practice.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications.
- Patient teaching and educational facilitation skills.
- Proficient bilingual translation skills preferred.
Credentials / Licenses:
- Maintain an active Nursing License (LVN, LPN) or RN Compact state license.
- Maintain an active CPR card.
Non‑exempt – Overtime eligible.
Salary:
- LVN/LPN: $30.00‑$33.00 per hour + $2,000 retention bonus.
- RN: $38.00‑$42.50 per hour + $4,000 retention bonus.
Shift Differential: $1.25 hour for weeknights, $3.00 for weekends.
Note: These are direct‑hire only compensation packages;
Skill Bridge is not a GMR paid program.
