Job Overview
Fusion Medical Staffing – Nursing is seeking a travel nurse RN PCU for a 13‑week assignment in Lewisville, Texas, with 12‑hour night shifts and 36 hours per week.
Essential Work Functions- Monitors and interprets cardiac rhythms, vital signs, and other telemetry data to detect abnormalities and respond appropriately.
- Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques, focusing on cardiac care.
- Prepares equipment and aids physicians during cardiac‑related procedures and examinations.
- Maintains awareness of comfort and safety needs of telemetry patients.
- Observes patients, records significant conditions and reactions, and notifies supervisors or physicians of patient status and responses to interventions.
- Responds to life‑saving situations based upon nursing standards, policies, procedures, and protocols specific to cardiac emergencies.
- Documents nursing history and physical assessment for assigned telemetry patients.
- Initiates patient education plans according to individualized needs, focusing on cardiac health, risk factors, and lifestyle modifications.
- Collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care for telemetry patients.
- Maintains confidentiality of patient records and client information.
- Performs other duties as assigned within the scope of practice.
- Adheres to hospital safety protocols, infection‑control guidelines, and regulatory standards.
- One year of recent experience as a Stepdown RN.
- Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA/ARC).
- Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification (AHA/ARC).
- Physical ability to remain stationary, move equipment (50‑100 lbs), push, pull, and bend.
- Excellent interpersonal communication and critical‑thinking skills.
- Proficiency in English language reading, writing, and computer skills.
- Progressive Care Certified Nurse (PCCN) certification.
- National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.
- Additional certifications and licenses may be required.
