RN Med Surg / MC Lewisville / 7P-7AOrtho Trauma Unit/Med Surg Unit.

• Unit: Ortho Trauma Unit / Med Surg Unit (4th Floor, Building A tower)
• Address: 500 W Main Street, Lewisville, TX 75057
• Number of Beds: 32
• Staffing (Day Shift): 1 Charge RN/LVN mix, 4-5 Nurses, 2-3 PCTs
• Staffing (Night Shift): 1 Charge RN/LVN mix, 4-5 Nurses, 2-3 PCTs
• Patient Ratio: 1:6
• Equipment: Baxter IV pumps, Welch Allyn VS machines
• EMR: Meditech
• On Call: N/a
• Floating: May float to sister department (Surgical Telemetry Unit) or Inpatient Rehab

• BLS certified
• Minimum 2 years experience as a Med/Surg RN
• Preferred:
  Charge experience, preceptor experience
• Experience with wound care and patient ambulation

• Provide direct patient care in an Orthopedic Trauma and Med/Surg unit.
• Delegate and supervise RN, LVN, and PCT staff as required.
• Monitor vital signs and administer medications using Baxter IV pumps.
• Assist with admission, discharge, and patient ambulation.
• Perform wound care and other procedures as indicated.
• Maintain accurate charting and documentation in Meditech EMR.
