American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night‑shift Med/Surg (Ortho Trauma) position in Lewisville, TX, requiring at least 2 years of Med/Surg experience and a TX or compact RN license.
Requirements- Active TX RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
- Current BLS certification (AHA or ARC accepted; must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start)
- Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg nursing experience required
- US SSN and DOB required for consideration
- One professional reference required
- No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
- 32‑bed Ortho Trauma / Med/Surg unit located on the 4th floor of A Tower
- Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- 13‑week contract
- Patient ratio of 1:6
- Unit staffed with RNs, LVNs, and PCTs; night shift includes 1 charge nurse, 4–5 nurses (RN/LVN mix), and 2–3 PCTs
- Equipment used includes Baxter IV pumps and Welch Allyn vital signs machines
- EMR:
Meditech - May float to the Surgical Telemetry Unit or Inpatient Rehab
- No on‑call requirement
- Typical procedures include patient ambulation and wound care as needed
- A dedicated admission/discharge team assists with the admitting and discharging process for Med/Surg patients
- Charge experience and preceptor experience are preferred
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates will not be considered
