Keyholder Summary
Under the direct supervision of the Team Leader and Assistant Team Leader, this is a non-exempt leadership role. The primary responsibilities of the Keyholder are to ensure world‑class customer service, POS sales, facility security and maintenance, and processing merchandise to run the Goodwill Dallas retail stores efficiently and cost‑effectively.
Essential Functions- Ensures 100% world‑class customer service.
- Opens and closes as required, assigns POS drawers, provides change for cashiers, documents team member absence, and assigns duties.
- Handles and processes incoming donation flow in and out.
- Ensures loss prevention and risk management policies and procedures are followed.
- Maintains a neat, clean, organized, and safe facility.
- Assists with inventory control and rotation of apparel and hard goods to keep inventory fresh.
- Keeps abreast of merchandise knowledge, industry trends, and competitive pricing.
- Completes statistical counts, register pulls, readings, cash reports, daily activity reports, transmittals, and daily deposits in accordance with Goodwill Dallas policies and procedures.
- Performs duties within the framework of our Guiding Principles and Core Values.
- May participate in activities outside of Goodwill Dallas.
- Attends in‑service and related training as assigned by the Team Leader.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Team Leader.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Assistant Team Leader.
- Experience in a business setting preferred.
- GED or high school diploma preferred.
- Basic computer skills.
- Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
High school education or equivalent is required. A minimum of two (2) years retail experience and one (1) year supervisory experience is required. Preference for experience working with people who have disabilities and/or prior Goodwill experience.
Math AbilityLevel 3:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Application of basic algebra and geometry concepts.
Beginner knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and Outlook. Experience utilizing a POS system.
Supervisory ResponsibilitiesThis position has supervisory responsibilities but no subordinate supervisors.
Purchasing AuthorityNo purchasing authority.
Special Conditions of EmploymentPhysical and Environmental Requirements:
Level 3:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups.
