• Proficient in reading and writing Spanish/English; ability to interact with the general public and co‑workers.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, product labels, pricing codes, shelf tags, short correspondence, and memos.
• Capability to write simple correspondence.
• Effective communication in one‑on‑one and small group settings with customers, clients, and other employees.
• Common‑sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
• Physical ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds regularly, up to 45 pounds frequently, and up to 60 pounds occasionally.

Under direct supervision from the Bakery Manager, the Bakery Clerk provides customer service and conducts a variety of tasks within the bakery.

Duties include:

greeting customers, assisting with bakery purchases, cleaning shelving and display cases, maintaining self‑serve displays, processing special orders, collaborating with the Baker to determine items that need to be baked or decorated, and ensuring department cleanliness by hosing down floors with soap and water. The role is fast‑paced and involves lifting, standing, walking, kneeling, and routine visual and auditory demands.

Food Handler Card or equivalent certification is required for all positions related to preparation, handling, and serving food.
