Service Department
The Service Technician Assistant is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, refurbishing, testing, and preparing Prática high-speed ovens for shipment to customers. This position performs hands-on technical work in a warehouse environment following established procedures, repair standards, quality requirements, and daily work schedules.
The ideal candidate enjoys troubleshooting electrical and electronic equipment, has strong mechanical aptitude, pays close attention to detail, and works effectively as part of a technical team.
Minimum Qualifications- High school diploma or GED.
- Technical certificate or vocational training in Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, Industrial Maintenance, or a related technical field preferred.
- 1+ year of experience in equipment repair, electronics, electrical maintenance, appliance repair, industrial maintenance, or similar technical work is preferred.
- Basic electrical and electronic principles.
- Understanding of Ohm's Law, voltage, current, resistance, continuity, and basic AC/DC circuits.
- Ability to safely use a multimeter and common electrical testing equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and safe use of hand and power tools.
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office and ERP systems are a plus).
- Troubleshooting and diagnostic mindset.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to follow written procedures and work instructions.
- Ability to prioritize assigned work.
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment.
- Forklift certification or willingness to become certified.
- Valid driver's license preferred.
- Perform functional testing using approved diagnostic procedures and test equipment.
- Repair and refurbish ovens according to company quality standards.
- Replace defective electrical, electronic, and mechanical components.
- Verify proper oven operation after repairs by completing functional and performance tests.
- Inspect returned ovens and determine repair requirements.
- Evaluate used electrical components to determine suitability for refurbishment inventory.
- Maintain organized inventory of refurbished and reusable components.
- Separate reusable parts from defective parts following company quality standards.
- Prepare refurbished and new ovens for shipment, including final inspection and packaging.
- Assist with receiving, storing, moving, and shipping ovens, parts, and accessories when needed.
- Maintain accurate repair records, inspection reports, and parts usage documentation.
- Keep the work area clean, organized, and compliant with 5S and safety standards.
- Follow all company safety procedures and established repair processes.
- Lift and move equipment weighing up to 75 pounds using proper lifting techniques and material handling equipment when necessary.
- Perform other warehouse and technical support duties assigned within the Service Department.
- Help with Tier 1 service calls might be required in occasional situations.
