Hours
  • To Be Determined – Monday to Friday, approximately 07:00 to 16:00
  • Optional Saturday or occasional Sunday if volume requires emergency coverage
Responsibilities
  • Fleet Management:
    Oversee and complete inventory and maintenance of trucks, trailers, small engines, and tools.
  • Perform regular maintenance tasks including replacing fuel, air, and cabin filters; monitor tire wear; and handle minor repairs.
  • Ensure trailers are properly maintained (tire repairs/replacements, bearing maintenance, brake adjustments, and general upkeep).
  • Perform vehicle maintenance to ensure all fleet vehicles meet DOT standards, including regular inspections and repairs.
  • Conduct minor repairs such as lights, wiring, windshield wipers, seat tears, paint touch-ups, jack and axle replacements, and floor replacements.
  • Maintain fleet cleanliness and appearance inside and out.
  • Perform welding tasks and custom modifications as needed.
  • Monitor tire wear and pressure; ensure proper tire rotations and alignments.
  • Oversee fuel management including regular refueling and fuel consumption monitoring.
  • Assist in the installation and maintenance of vehicle tracking and telematics systems.
  • Maintain records of repairs, maintenance schedules, and parts inventory.
  • Assist in emergency roadside repairs and coordinate with external service providers when necessary.
Custom Crate Building
  • Assist in constructing custom crates using power tools and precise measurements.
Documentation, Compliance, and Safety Protocols
  • Document damages, log repairs, and ensure compliance with DOT regulations.
  • Utilize Geotab devices, telematics, and fleet wash and cleaning supplies.
  • Enforce use of PPE (gloves, eye protection) and proper safety equipment (jacks, jack stands).
  • Adhere to safety protocols to prevent injuries and ensure a safe working environment.
  • Conduct regular safety training sessions and audits.
Leadership and Team Management
  • Coordinate with drivers and other team members to ensure proper vehicle usage and reporting of issues.
Preventative Maintenance Program
  • Develop and maintain a preventative maintenance program to minimize downtime and ensure vehicle longevity.
  • Schedule regular inspections and preventative maintenance.
Vendor and Supplier Relations
  • Manage relationships with external repair shops, parts suppliers, and equipment vendors.
  • Negotiate service contracts and ensure timely procurement of parts and supplies.
Budget Management
  • Manage the fleet maintenance budget, track expenses, and optimize costs.
Emergency Preparedness
  • Create and maintain an emergency response plan for fleet breakdowns and accidents.
Requirements
  • 21 years of age and insurable on commercial insurance
  • Prior experience with fleet repair and maintenance
  • Valid driver s license and a clean driving record
  • Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical labor
  • Good organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
  • Ability to pass a background check
  • Proficiency in English required
