The Spectrum Engineer provides electronic spectrum management and authorization support for Counter Uncrewed Systems (CuXS). This role serves as the subject matter expert for spectrum analysis, certification, and compliance activities, ensuring electronic emitters operate without interference and in accordance with Navy and DoD spectrum requirements. The Spectrum Engineer supports system integration, testing, fielding, and sustainment activities across CONUS and OCONUS locations.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Provide spectrum engineering support for CuXS systems, subsystems, and electronic emitters.
- Support Frequency Spectrum Certification and authorization activities in coordination with Government stakeholders.
- Prepare, review, and submit RF spectrum documentation, including standardized RF/130i forms.
- Conduct spectrum analysis to identify interference risks, operational constraints, and mitigation strategies.
- Support site surveys, system integration efforts, and test events requiring spectrum or RF analysis.
- Develop spectrum-related technical reports, analyses, and briefings for program leadership and Government sponsors.
- Coordinate with engineering, test, and operational teams to ensure spectrum compliance throughout the system lifecycle.
- Support work conducted in classified and controlled environments in accordance with Government security requirements.
- Clearance & Citizenship: U.S. Citizenship required. Active Secret clearance required;
Top Secret eligibility required. - Education & Experience: Bachelor's in Engineering or an Engineering/STEM Discipline & 3+ years of experience, OR Associate's degree & 7+ years of experience
- Experience supporting Navy or DoD Frequency Spectrum Certification processes.
- Familiarity with RF/130i documentation and spectrum coordination activities.
- Experience supporting fielded systems, site surveys, or test events involving RF emitters.
- Background in RF systems, electronic warfare, radar, or communications systems.
Hours:
40 hours/week.
Compensation: $132,000-$198000. The salary range posted is based on the national average. The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate's location, knowledge, skills, abilities, and/or experience, contract affordability, and in consideration of internal parity.
Additional Compensation: K may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels per internal policy or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be in the form of a sign-on bonus, relocation benefits, short-term incentives, long-term incentives, or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
