Our client is seeking a QMHP to work in Richmond, VA. The schedule is Monday - Friday, overnight - 12a - 8a or 11p - 7a.
SUMMARY OF CLIENT'S DESCRIPTION OF RESPONSIBILITIES- This position works in the facility answering incoming calls and dispatching crisis responders into the community to assess and assist the caller as needed
- Provides rapid intervention and de‑escalation
- Provides assessment and safety planning
- Works in conjunction with other personnel in order to provide community based mental health support services by providing referrals to community‑based mental health services, outpatient care, or crisis stabilization centers
- Provides immediate, over the phone support to individuals experiencing behavioral health crises, such as psychiatric emergencies, severe distress, or substance misuse.
- Focuses on de‑escalation as an alternative to police involvement and/or hospitalization by conducting assessment and dispatching crisis responders
- QMHP or CSAC License in Virginia
- MUST have a current Mobile Crisis Responder certification
- Minimum qualifications of a QMHP means a person in the human services field who is trained and experienced in providing psychiatric or mental health services
- Clinical experience means providing direct services to individuals with mental illness, mental retardation, or receiving gerontology or special education services
- Includes supervised internships, practicum's and field experience
- Knowledge of therapeutic interventions, life skills, case management, and crisis intervention skills
- Must demonstrate an appropriate level of academic skill necessary to effectively perform the responsibilities of this position
