About this position

iWorks Corporation is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to lead advanced analytics initiatives supporting federal IT modernization and mission-critical programs. This role focuses on designing and deploying machine learning models, performing complex statistical analysis, and transforming large datasets into actionable insights for federal stakeholders.

The ideal candidate brings strong technical depth, experience working with federal data environments, and the ability to communicate complex findings to both technical and non-technical audiences. This role will also provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior data professionals while ensuring compliance with federal data governance and security standards.

Salary Range: 145K - 156K commensurate with the candidate's skills, experience, location, and qualifications.

On a day-to-day basis, you will:

  • Lead the design, development, and deployment of predictive models and advanced machine learning solutions
  • Analyze large, complex datasets to identify trends, patterns, anomalies, and forecasting insights
  • Translate analytical findings into clear visualizations, dashboards, and executive-level reports
  • Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and federal stakeholders to define analytics goals, data requirements, and success metrics
  • Ensure data quality, integrity, governance, and compliance with federal standards
  • Support evidence-based decision-making across multiple federal programs
  • Oversee and mentor junior data analysts and data scientists, promoting best practices and technical consistency
  • Manage multiple analytics initiatives simultaneously while meeting project timelines
  • Required Education/Qualifications
    • Clearance: Secret security clearance fully adjudicated
    • Master's or Ph.D. in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in data science, analytics, or related roles
    • Proficiency in Python, R, and SQL
    • Hands-on experience with machine learning, statistical modeling, and data mining techniques
    • Experience building dashboards and visualizations using tools such as Tableau or Power BI
    • Strong understanding of federal data governance, privacy, and security requirements, including FISMA, FedRAMP, and NIST frameworks
    • Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex data insights clearly
    • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects concurrently
    Preferred Qualifications
    • Experience supporting federal IT modernization initiatives
    • Prior work with large-scale or big data technologies
    • Experience collaborating directly with federal clients or government stakeholders
    • Leadership experience guiding or mentoring junior data professionals
    • Familiarity with Agile or Dev Sec Ops  environments
