* Assistive Technology Specialist:
Bowhead is seeking an Assistive Technology Specialist to provide program support for the Information Resources Accessibility Program (IRAP) Section 508 office. The Section 508 Program Office is an organization within the US Department of the Treasury's, Office of Internal Revenue Service (IRS) that provides agency wide support Assistive (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). a reasonable accommodations and technical Section 508 guidance for IRS projects and Agency initiatives.
** Responsibilities*
* + Support end-user of Assistive technology. AT Technical Support and Troubleshooting of both Hardware and software
+ Provide AT Support to the tier 1 help desk side support, such as troubleshooting computer issues
+ Troubleshoot AT End-user issues that were assigned from the
* IRAP mailbox
+ Contacting AT vendors to get assistance with troubleshooting or issues
+ Participate, as needed, as a member of a cross-functional team of IT experts to identify and craft solutions for newly introduced software/solutions
+ Apply knowledge of the technical, policy/procedures and contracting implications of Section 508
+ Configure and teach others how to use Dragon, Zoom Text, and JAWS as well as other AT
+ Troubleshoot interoperability issues between mainstream hardware, software, and assistive technology
+ Install hardware and software
+ Other duties as assigned
** Qualifications*
* + A Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical area is desired
+ No less than 3 - 7 years of relevant experience with Information Technology, preferably Assistive Technology
+ Knowledge of Assistive its performance, capability, baseline interoperability.
+ Computer experience with mainstream applications such as MS Office
+ Knowledge of features which enhance the accessibility and usability of a web sites and applications
+ Knowledge of the purpose for 508 testing. Section 508 accessibility testing experience is helpful, but not required
+ Knowledge of Inspection/Testing tools. Able to independently demonstrate testing acumen to coordinate with AT Testers
+ Soft skills, including effective communication, teamwork, time management, willingness to learn, empathy, organization, and critical thinking
Physical Demands:
+ Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds
+ Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time
+ Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodic all
SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENT:
Must be able to obtain a security clearance at the Public Trust (NAC) level. US Citizenship is a requirement for a Public Trust (NAC) clearance at this location.
