Telecommunications Specialist (Operations, Senior Analyst) Position Location Remote

The MIL Corporation is seeking a Telecommunications Specialist (Operations, Senior Analyst) to support our federal government client located in the Lexington Park, MD area.

The Telecommunications Specialist supports core operational, technical, and program‑level activities across shipboard modernization, integration, and telecommunications engineering efforts. This role provides senior‑level operational oversight, coordination, and analytical support to ensure installation readiness, configuration compliance, schedule alignment, and quality assurance across multiple ship classes and technical platforms. The Telecommunications Specialist serves as a technical and operational subject‑matter contributor to government program offices, ensuring that installations, alterations, and modernization efforts meet all NAVSEA, NAVAIR, and platform‑specific standards.

The position is part‑time (less than 20 hours per week) and currently requires a remote schedule. Schedule is subject to change based on company/contract requirements.

• Assist with operational planning, execution tracking, and installation coordination across shipboard modernization projects, including LCS, DDG, FFG, MSC, and USCG platforms.
• Assist with scheduling to ensure timely installation planning, site survey readiness, and alteration certification.
• Assist with shipboard AIT activities, including daily production meetings, installation in‑briefs/out‑briefs, alteration compliance, ILS coordination, and oversight.
• Assist with tracking and managing operational deliverables including SCD maturity assessments, corrective action forms (CARS), alteration completion reports (ACRs), configuration updates, and Temp Alteration removals.
• Assist with interfacing with program offices, platform managers, ILS teams, safety reviewers, and QA specialists to ensure coordinated execution of shipboard modernization.
• Assist with overseeing technical and operational teams, including installation leads, technicians, welders, fitters, and multi‑discipline engineering support personnel.
• Assist with preparing operational documentation including work specifications (SOWs), POA&Ms, MOAs, Naval Completion messages, Late‑Add messages, and Temp Extension messages.
• Assist with conducting operational risk assessment, schedule analysis, readiness evaluations, and mitigation planning across multiple sites and shipyards.
• Assist with providing operational test support (SOVTs), troubleshooting, alignment, and verification for SATCOM, SHF/UHF, OE‑82, NAVMACS, AN/GRC‑211, and associated communications systems.
• Assist with ensuring compliance with shock/vibe, EMI, and COMSEC‑related standards for equipment racks and modernization hardware.

• 20+ years of progressive operational, shipboard installation, telecommunications, or systems integration experience
• Demonstrated mastery of shipboard installation coordination, NAVSEA processes, configuration management, and alteration certification requirements
• Expertise with SATCOM/SHF/UHF systems, NAVMACS SMS, OE‑82, AN/SRQ‑4, AN/GRC‑211, and related telecommunications/mission systems
• Extensive experience using NDE, RMMCO, AMPS, and e‑LAR for installation tracking and workflow management

• Experience with ILS certification, CDMD‑OA, QA/Safety reviews, and SHIPMAIN compliance
• Experience with engineering test beds, antenna alignment, and communications system integration

High School Diploma. BA/BS preferred.
