Position Overview
The Accountant will support day-to-day accounting operations and serve as a key partner to the Accounting Manager. This role focuses on the “meat and potatoes” of accounting—ensuring accurate data entry, reconciliations, and financial tracking that enables leadership to produce accurate reporting and make informed decisions.
This role is ideal for a detail-oriented, proactive accounting professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, can work independently, and takes ownership of their work.
Key Responsibilities- Perform daily accounting data entry, including AP/AR transactions
- Complete bank and credit card reconciliations
- Record monthly accruals for service contracts and recurring expenses
- Track and reconcile rent, deposits, vendor payments, and operating expenses
- Maintain organized and accurate accounting files and documentation
- Support expense reporting and revenue tracking
- Work daily in Yardi property management software and Excel
- Follow and help improve standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Provide accurate, timely data to support financial reporting prepared by leadership
- Prior experience in accounting (this cannot be a first accounting role)
- Strong understanding of basic accounting principles (money in / money out)
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills (required)
- Experience working in an office-based accounting environment
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and proactively without constant direction
- Experience in residential property management accounting (strongly preferred but not required)
- Experience with Yardi, Entrata, Real Page, or similar property management software
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 100% on-site in Lexington, KY (flexibility as needed, but not a hybrid role)

💼 salary range: $55,000 – $70,000 (based on experience)
