OVERVIEW
We are currently seeking a Senior Accountant for our Healthcare Division in Lexington, KY. The Senior Accountant will manage the accounting for a mega‑project and/or multiple large projects, working independently and maintaining good rapport with project staff and the business group Accounting Manager and Controller.
RESPONSIBILITIES- Review and process subcontracts, subcontract change orders, and performance/payment bonds to ensure compliance with specified terms.
- Collect and review subcontractor/supplier lien waivers.
- Collect, review, and process subcontractor/supplier monthly project invoices, ensuring proper accrual to the correct cost reports and phase codes.
- Ensure proper payments to all subcontractors and major suppliers.
- Maintain a deep understanding of the Walsh cost report and related accounting functions.
- Understand the monthly P&L process, submit project P&Ls accurately and on time, and review them for accuracy.
- Process cost transfers on the project cost report for Project Management staff.
- Perform in‑depth monthly analysis of owner billing and produce owner billing independently when applicable.
- Submit monthly owner billings to the Accounting Manager or Controller for processing.
- Monitor cash flow and communicate with project staff regarding accounts receivable tracking and payment status.
- Work independently and manage the accounting operations for mega‑projects or multiple large projects.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a business‑related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in construction accounting or a related field.
