Collections Specialist

Description We are looking for a Collections Specialist to join a wholesale distribution team in Kentucky. This contract-to-permanent opportunity is ideal for someone who can balance strong account recovery practices with a detail-oriented, service-focused approach when working with customers. The position centers on managing commercial receivables, resolving payment issues, and supporting healthy client relationships through clear and timely communication.

Responsibilities:

- Manage a portfolio of commercial accounts and follow up on outstanding balances through phone, email, and other appropriate outreach methods.

- Communicate with customers to address past-due invoices, clarify account concerns, and encourage timely payment while maintaining a consistent, service-focused experience.

- Review account activity and payment status to identify delinquent balances and determine appropriate collection actions.

- Document collection efforts, customer conversations, payment commitments, and account updates with accuracy and attention to detail.

- Coordinate with internal teams to investigate billing questions, reconcile discrepancies, and help resolve issues that may delay payment.

- Monitor aged receivables and prioritize collection activity based on account status, risk level, and payment history.

- Support ongoing customer relationships by combining firm collection practices with responsive service and clear communication. Requirements
