Property Accountant

An Entry‑Level Property Accountant supports the accounting team in managing the financial operations of a portfolio of real estate properties. This role focuses on maintaining accurate financial records, assisting with monthly reporting, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and property management requirements.

• Assist with monthly close processes
  , including preparing journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Reconcile bank statements and balance sheet accounts for assigned properties.
• Prepare and review monthly financial statements for individual properties.
• Support accounts payable and accounts receivable
  , including tenant billing and rent tracking.
• Maintain and update the general ledger to ensure accurate financial data.
• Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities for property portfolios.
• Analyze financial data and investigate variances or discrepancies
  .
• Prepare documentation for audits and tax filings
  .
• Ensure timely payments of expenses such as mortgages, taxes, and vendor invoices.
• Work closely with property managers and operations teams to resolve financial issues.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 0-2 years of accounting experience (internship or entry‑level acceptable).
• Basic understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles

• Strong Excel skills and familiarity with accounting systems (e.g., Yardi, Real Page).
• Detail‑oriented with strong organizational and analytical skills.

• Knowledge of property management or real estate accounting
