Senior Accountant

Description

Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to join our accounting team. This role will be responsible for month-end close activities, financial reporting, account reconciliations, and supporting the overall accuracy and integrity of financial records. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, a solid understanding of accounting principles, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

+ Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.

+ Lead month-end and year-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.

+ Analyze financial results and investigate variances.

+ Maintain general ledger accounts and ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures.

+ Assist with financial statement preparation and management reporting.

+ Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow analysis efforts.

+ Coordinate with external auditors and assist with annual audit requests.

+ Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and internal controls.

+ Review fixed assets, accruals, prepaid expenses, and balance sheet reconciliations.

+ Collaborate with cross-functional departments to resolve accounting issues and provide financial insight.

+ Assist with special projects and ad hoc reporting as needed.

Requirements

Qualifications

+ Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.

+ 3+ years of progressive accounting experience.

+ Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.

+ Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

+

Experience with ERP systems and accounting software.

+ CPA designation preferred but not required.

+ Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

+ Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.

Preferred Experience

+ Manufacturing, healthcare, nonprofit, or service industry experience (adjust as needed).

+

Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.

+ Experience improving accounting processes and internal controls.
