We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant, Financial Reporting to join our growing accounting team. This role is responsible for supporting the preparation of financial statements, month-end close activities, account reconciliations, and financial reporting processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in accounting principles, excellent analytical skills, and a desire to grow within a collaborative finance environment.
Key Responsibilities- Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.
- Prepare journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations.
- Support the preparation of internal and external financial reports.
- Analyze financial data and investigate variances to ensure accuracy.
- Maintain general ledger accounts and supporting schedules.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
- Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Support annual audits by preparing schedules and providing requested documentation.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow reporting activities.
- Collaborate with departments across the organization to gather financial information and support reporting needs.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and internal controls.
- Participate in special projects and ad hoc financial analyses as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
- 1-3 years of accounting experience preferred.
- Understanding of GAAP and basic financial reporting concepts.
- Experience with month-end close and account reconciliations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software/ERP systems.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- CPA candidate or pursuing CPA certification.
- Public accounting internship or experience preferred.
- Experience working with financial statements and reporting packages.
- Familiarity with multi-entity accounting environments is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Eagerness to learn and develop professionally.
- Positive, team-oriented attitude.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- A proactive approach to improving processes and supporting business objectives.
