Accounts Receivable Specialist

Description

We are looking for an Accounts Receivable Specialist to join a manufacturing organization in Lexington, Kentucky in a contract-to-permanent capacity. This on-site role supports the accounts receivable team by helping reduce outstanding backlog and maintain timely, accurate payment activity. The position is ideal for someone who can manage cash application work, investigate payment details, and coordinate collection follow-up in a fast-paced environment.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities :

- Apply incoming payments accurately each day and ensure cash activity is recorded in a timely manner

- Review remittance information, investigate discrepancies, and align customer payments with the correct open invoices

- Monitor outstanding receivables and communicate with customers regarding past-due balances and collection-related matters

- Prepare and submit claims through Salesforce while maintaining complete and organized documentation

- Route complicated account issues to the appropriate accounts receivable team member for resolution

- Support efforts to reduce aged items and clear backlog by prioritizing unresolved transactions and open account questions

Requirements

- Prior experience in accounts receivable support, including cash application and payment posting

- Working knowledge of commercial collections and customer account follow-up

- Ability to research remittance details and resolve invoice-to-payment matching issues

- Familiarity with billing functions and day-to-day cash activity processing

- Experience using Salesforce or a similar business system to enter and track account-related items

- Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities in an on-site work setting
