Adecco is assisting in the search for an Administrator in Lexington, KY. This is a long-term opportunity that will give you valuable experience to enhance your career. The Licensing Administrator supports the Licensing department by managing licensing processes and overseeing administrative functions for Kentucky Horse Racing and Gaming operations. The Licensing Administrator must be detail-oriented, highly organized, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced regulatory environment.
This position is instrumental in facilitating licensing procedures and supporting the overall efficiency of KHRG’s Racetrack and Historical Horse Racing licensing operations.
- Administer and oversee the licensing process for individuals and entities involved in KHRG activities.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and policies regarding KHRG licensure.
- Review, approve, enter, and resolve discrepancies in licensure applications from organizations, facilities, distributors, and manufacturers for accuracy and completeness. Provide written correspondence regarding any deficiencies as soon as practicable, and store it electronically, in hard copy, or by other appropriate means.
- Process changes requests and applications for KHRG.
- Issue licenses through the Association of Racing Commissioners International licensing program when requirements have been met.
- Independently provide written correspondence to applicants for licensure explaining policies and procedures. Serve as a point of contact for licensees and applicants, responding to inquiries and providing guidance on licensing requirements.
- Recommend denial to department management for additional review.
- Ensure that all racing participants, association employees, and vendors hold current licenses and maintain good standing with the Kentucky Horse Racing and Gaming prior to engaging in any activities within the racing jurisdiction of Thoroughbred, Standard bred, and Quarter Horse facilities.
- Recommend policy and procedural changes as necessary to improve licensing processes.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date licensing records, databases, and documentation.
- Provide support to internal and external stakeholders.
- Assist in training of employees and licensees.
- Provide administrative support to KHRG as requested.
- Requires sitting at a computer for long periods.
- Up to 25 pounds of lifting may be required.
- Periodic travel will be required, and overnight stays may be required, with occasional overtime and/or alternate schedules as needed.
- Weekends are required.
- Holiday shifts will be required.
- Occasional late-night work may be necessary.
- Work may conduct in remote field office locations.
- Responsible for dismantling various equipment, including computer setups, printers, and scanner, as needed.
- Responsible for reassembling equipment following operational requirements.
- Reliable and dependable transportation is required for job-related travel.
- Other duties and tasks as assigned.
EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required.
- Minimum of 3 years of professional clerical, administrative, or business experience preferred.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to provide effective customer service to internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively, demonstrating teamwork, adaptability, confidentiality, and initiative.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in recordkeeping, database management, and Microsoft office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
