Job Summary

You must be a current UK student to apply for this position. This position is located off campus with a local Lexington employer and is not affiliated with UK.

Summer Conference runs from May – August.

This role requires the availability to work nights and weekends.

Preference is given to current University of Kentucky students/employees.

Responsibilities
  • Assist Summer Conference Housing Director with preparing contracts, room assignments and entering information into database system for Summer Conference Operations
  • Provide support and guidance to customers through the contract process, including but not limited to, on-site building tours, email communications and phone conversations
  • Communicate to conferences to ensure needs are met, if the Conference Director is not available
  • Provide on-call coverage
  • Communicate with the Conference Leads to ensure building readiness for each conference and assist Leads with any prep or ending stages for conferences
  • Assist Conference Assistants with Iris Front Desk for conference changes, checkins or outs
  • Assist in other projects in the department as needed and other duties as identified for the Summer Conference Housing operations
  • Assist with supervision of Conference Assistants and Conference Leads
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities

Education: In order to be eligible for the position, a candidate must: 1. Be a student at the University of Kentucky, in good academic standing. 2. Be in good disciplinary standing at the University of Kentucky.

Experience: Experience in customer service within a detail-oriented environment.

Physical Requirements: May be required to walk long distances or sit for long periods of time. May be required to walk up and down stairs. Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. May be required to perform physical activities in a housing facility environment. Ability to work effectively in stressful and high pressure situations. May be required to stay longer than shift on occasion.
