Job Summary
Administrative Support Associate – East Region at the University of Kentucky’s Cooperative Extension Eastern Region in the Martin‑Gatton College of Agriculture, Food and Environment. The role supports the Regional Cooperative Extension Area Directors as a general office administrative assistant, handling receptionist duties, typing, computer and office equipment operation, file clerking, and additional assigned responsibilities. The incumbent manages confidential financial and personnel records, oversees daily operations and information delivery, and leads and trains county support staff.
Professional conduct, punctuality, proper grammar, and a polished appearance are expected, along with a solid understanding of the Kentucky Cooperative Extension Service’s mission, policies, and procedures.
- Perform general office administrative tasks including receptionist, typist, computer operator, and office equipment operation.
- Manage confidential financial and personnel records.
- Oversee daily office operations and information delivery.
- Provide leadership and training to county support staff.
- Maintain professional demeanor, punctuality, and proper written and verbal communication.
- Become knowledgeable of the philosophy, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures of the Kentucky Cooperative Extension Service.
- Associate’s degree (AA) required.
- Minimum of three (3) years of clerical, administrative, or office support experience.
- Preferred:
Associate’s degree with at least three (3) years of clerical, administrative, and/or office support experience. - Driver’s license preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access, Publisher, Office 365).
- Experience with Teams, Skype for Business, and Zoom.
- Basic Quick Books knowledge.
- Organizational and time‑management skills.
- Familiarity with office equipment including scanners, copiers, and fax machines.
- Use of a multi‑line phone system.
- Ability to handle confidential records.

Lifting, pushing, and pulling objects up to 50 pounds; sitting for long periods of time.
ShiftMonday‑Friday 8:00 am–5:00 pm; occasional nights, weekends or holidays may be required.
