Summer Conference Housing – Conference Lead

JOB DESCRIPTION

Summer Conference runs from May – August.

This role requires the availability to work nights and weekends.

Preference is given to current University of Kentucky students/employees.

  • Provide direct support to Summer Conference Housing operations
  • Supervise and schedule Conference Assistants
  • Assist with training of Conference Assistants on all policies and procedures
  • Manage area staffing and scheduling
  • Manage front desk logs and key inventories
  • Be on-hand for camp/conference check-ins and check-outs
  • Assist with conference preparation duties, including distribution and bundling of linens
  • Respond to building emergencies according to procedures
  • Provide on-call coverage
  • Communicate maintenance and custodial issues to appropriate staff
  • Perform administrative functions
  • Promote and maintain a positive work environment
  • Provide excellent customer service
  • Assist with maintenance tasks including but not limited to clearing out rooms and moving furniture
  • Other duties as assigned
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities Education

In order to be eligible for the position, a candidate must: 1. Be a student at the University of Kentucky, in good academic standing. 2. Be in good disciplinary standing at the University of Kentucky.

Experience

Experience in customer service within a detail-oriented environment.

Physical Requirements

May be required to walk long distances or sit for long periods of time. May be required to walk up and down stairs. Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. May be required to perform physical activities in a housing facility environment. Ability to work effectively in stressful and high pressure situations. May be required to stay longer than shift on occasion.
