Director of Corporate Development
Kentucky Educational Television (KET) has a full‑time position opening at its Lexington network center. KET is Kentucky’s only statewide media organization, broadcasting in eight states and ten media markets, and provides live and on‑demand streaming services. The organization annually produces hundreds of hours of local productions and nationally recognized educational resources.
Responsibilities- Create, execute and evaluate fundraising strategies to secure and grow broadcast, event, digital, education, and community sponsor ships from corporate partners, including local, regional, and national companies, nonprofits, and government agencies.
- Understand KET’s vision and use it to align needs with funding opportunities, communicating a case for support.
- Build and manage an individual portfolio of corporate partners and prospects, focusing on retaining current donors and securing new partners.
- Track and meet individual and team revenue goals, expense budgets, and contact metrics; oversee portfolio assignments.
- Maintain administrative and database functions, including donor recognition, pledge entries, invoicing, and web/traffic coordination.
- Identify sponsorship opportunities across KET’s services, creating broadcast program packages and refining partner benefits.
- Manage corporate sponsor ships for events, including volunteer recruitment, collateral, solicitation, and stewardship.
- Lead, coach, and mentor the corporate team, performing supervisory duties such as hiring, training, planning, and performance oversight.
- Collaborate with KET Marketing to develop communications plans and promote sponsorship opportunities and corporate giving benefits.
- Assist agency‑wide staff in reinforcing a culture of philanthropy and serve as an ambassador for KET’s programs.
- Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of three years’ experience in fundraising, sales or a related field (equivalent education, training or experience acceptable).
- Demonstrated success in fundraising, media sales or resource development.
- Track record of building effective partner relationships.
- Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
- Computer proficiency and database management skills.
- Self‑supporting administrative, marketing and office skills.
- Experience in public media, corporate outreach and supervisory roles preferred.
- Frequent travel and willingness to work evenings and weekends.
