The University of Kentucky is seeking a Staff Auditor to join the Internal Audit team, supporting healthcare-focused audit activities across UK Health Care and affiliated community healthcare operations.
What You'll Do- Participate in audits of healthcare operations, financial processes, compliance activities, and internal controls
- Conduct interviews, review documentation, and analyze data to evaluate business practices and identify risks
- Research and interpret applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedures
- Develop process workflows and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and effectiveness
- Prepare and maintain audit work papers, documentation, and supporting evidence
- Assist with audit findings, recommendations, and reporting activities
- Collaborate with healthcare leaders, administrators, and operational teams across multiple locations
- Support audit planning, scheduling, and project execution while managing multiple assignments
- Experience in auditing, accounting, compliance, healthcare operations, or related fields
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
- Ability to review complex information and identify risks, trends, and control gaps
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Effective written and verbal communication abilities
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment
- Commitment to professionalism, integrity, and ethical standards
- Bachelor's degree
- 3+ years of related experience
