The University of Kentucky Police Department is seeking an Emergency Management (EM) Specialist to join the team. The Emergency Management (EM) Specialist develops and maintains emergency plans and programs to ensure UK Health Care's compliance with applicable regulatory standards. Key duties include:

• coordinating planning efforts
• maintaining emergency communication protocols.

The role also participates in on-call rotations, assists with Health Care Incident Command Center ( HICC ) operations, and engages in ongoing professional development. This position reports to the Emergency Management Director of Operations and may serve across the UK Health Care Emergency Management Division as needed.

Lifting, pushing, pulling up to 50 lbs., sitting for extended periods of time; including sitting at computer workstation. Occasional risk of injuries from use of equipment on the job, loud noises, temperature extremes, hazardous chemicals and fumes including waste, burns, cuts/punctures, combative/violent people, and animal handling (including carcasses).

This position will require candidates to take a polygraph examination as part of the University Police Department's employment process.
