SUMMARY OF OPPORTUNITYThe General Construction Laborer will report to the General Construction superintendent and provide support throughout a construction project which includes general trades responsibilities. This person must understand the general construction trade, power tools and safety procedures. A General Construction laborer needs to have the ability to be flexible as this position may perform various functions throughout a shift. Jostin requires all employees to work collaboratively as a team with not only other Jostin employees but also our trade partners.
Job Responsibilities- General Cleaning
- Material Handling
- Handle materials in a safe manner - Assist with placing temporary barricades.
- Complete and maintain equipment certifications.
- Assist with grout and caulking.
- General knowledge of tools and equipment
- Ensure tools and equipment are cleaned, accounted for, and maintained
- Ability to safely operate power tools
- Assist carpenters with various tasks
- Participate in weekly toolbox talks
- Meet the classification requirements of a laborer 1
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to successfully pass a drug screening
- The ability to work irregular hours including weekends when necessary
- The ability to work in harsh weather conditions for long periods of time
- The ability to exert oneself physically over long periods of time without getting winded or out of breath
- The ability to use abdominal and lower back muscles to support part of the body repeatedly or continuously over time without giving out or fatiguing
