Construction Superintendent
We are seeking a dedicated Construction Superintendent to oversee the completion of a $60 million pharmaceutical manufacturing project. This position involves ground-up construction on an existing campus and will transition to a subsequent project in Louisville, KY upon completion. This role is salaried, with the potential for overtime pay, and includes a monthly per diem.
Responsibilities- Lead specific construction site activities and manage parts of field operations.
- Assume primary responsibility for activities associated with specific trades on assigned construction sites.
- Lead assigned vendors and subcontractors to meet project goals and ensure safety objectives are met.
- Ensure projects meet applicable quality requirements.
- Interact with clients at the site and promote positive relationships.
- Support the Construction Manager in developing and maintaining execution plans, project schedules, and change control documentation.
- Develop a working knowledge of the project budget and identify exceptions throughout project execution.
- Oversee work of assigned vendors and subcontractors to ensure compliance with quality requirements.
- Participate in constructability reviews of design documents.
- Support procurement and coordination of required project resources.
- Conduct pre-bid walk-through and de-scope meetings.
- Select subcontractors and vendors.
- Evaluate vendor and subcontractor invoices and requests for payment.
- Manage subcontractor and vendor change requests.
- Conduct periodic site inspections and evaluations, reporting on findings.
- Produce daily reports of site conditions, including weather, force levels, and safety issues.
- Complete job safety analysis documentation as required.
- Ensure compliance of project activities with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Oversee startup and commissioning activities of assigned trades if included in the project scope.
- 5+ years of experience in construction site management.
- Proven experience as a Superintendent on MEP projects (mechanical, electrical, plumbing).
- Previous experience in the Pharmaceutical, Biotechnology, or Biopharmaceutical industry or large manufacturing.
- Proficiency in construction management, subcontractor management, quality control, and field management.
- Experience with Procore or similar project management software.
Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline preferred.
- Equivalent technical degree or relevant experience is also considered.
This position involves working on large-scale construction projects within the pharmaceutical and biotechnological industries. The role includes site inspections and requires interaction with various stakeholders, including subcontractors and vendors. The work environment emphasizes safety, quality control, and effective communication. The position offers a monthly per diem and the opportunity for home rotations, with initial mobilization and demobilization support.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lexington, KY.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $45.00 - $70.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
