Overview
Mechanics Bank is looking for a full‑time Customer Service Representative III at its Ballard Branch. The role focuses on acquisition, retention, and expansion of new and existing customer relationships while providing exceptional service and selling bank products to meet referral goals.
Responsibilities- Interview and profile customers to recommend banking products and services.
- Partner with other business lines to identify and pursue sales opportunities.
- Process complex transactions such as account ownership changes, living trusts, guardianship accounts, and estate assignments.
- Originate consumer loans and advocate for prompt processing.
- Open and close customer accounts (checking, savings, money markets, CDs, IRAs).
- Cross‑sell bank products and services to meet referral goals.
- Resolve difficult customer situations with creativity, tact, and diplomacy using HEAL guidelines.
- Support branch lobby management and lead by example in customer advocacy.
- Perform teller duties: deposits, withdrawals, holds, loan payments, traveler’s checks, stop payments, telephone transfers, direct deposits, cash advances, wire transfers, ATM transactions, and other related activities.
- Balance cash drawers, maintain cash records, and manage vault cash as required.
- Assist with project responsibilities such as ATM balancing, loan input, branch supply orders, and monthly reports.
- Participate in branch audit functions and comply with all bank policies and regulatory requirements.
- Engage in two community events per year.
- Perform any other duties as needed.
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of 3 years experience as a CSR/New Accounts Representative or equivalent in a banking or retail operations environment.
- Proficiency with teller software, Microsoft Word, Excel, and other bank-related programs.
- Strong customer relations skills and the ability to communicate effectively with employees and customers.
- Self‑starter, dependable, able to meet deadlines under pressure.
- Excellent judgment and ability to handle confidential information.
- Ability to work quickly and accurately, analyze information, and make decisions.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- ADA requirements: physical demands include sitting, standing, walking, reaching, and occasional lifting up to 10 pounds; vision required is close vision; noise level is moderate.
- Pay Range: $20.00 – $31.00 hourly.
