Pediatric Radiologist - Daytime 7 on 14 off model

The University of Kentucky is seeking a full‑time, fellowship‑trained pediatric radiologist for a faculty position, appointed at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor commensurate on qualifications and experience.

We offer a unique clinical schedule, consisting of seven days of onsite clinical work followed by two weeks of non‑clinical time (7/14 model). Call responsibilities (intussusception reduction and volvulus workup) are limited to the clinical week. There is a mixture of cases including fluoroscopy, radiography, ultrasound, and cross‑sectional imaging (body CT and MRI). Pediatric neuroradiology, musculoskeletal MRI, nuclear medicine, and emergency radiology exams are read by their respective divisions.

Off‑hours exams are read by teleradiology support or ER faculty. This position offers excellent work‑life balance in a supportive atmosphere. Experience with fetal MRI is strongly desired due to the growth of our fetal care center but is not required.

This recruitment will support our continued growth, including the opening of a Cancer and Advanced Ambulatory Building, a new multi‑disciplinary ambulatory care site, an expansion of our main hospital, and a new tower for Kentucky Children’s Hospital.

Our department is supportive of academic endeavors including research and teaching the next generation of academic radiologists. The diagnostic radiology residency program has 32 residents (8 per class). The Integrated Interventional Radiology residency has 10 residents (2 per class). The Department of Radiology participates in more than 50 on‑going clinical trials across a variety of areas including, but not limited to, molecular imaging, oncology, theranostic, fMRI and neuro‑imaging, interventional radiology, and AI.

Faculty from the Department of Radiology published more than 50 manuscripts during the last academic year and were invited speakers at over 100 national or international conferences.

Base salaries are well above national means for academic practices and come with rank adjustments for associate or full professors. The Department has an annual incentive plan rewarding both clinical performance and academic productivity. There are ample opportunities for internal moonlighting, if desired, for additional income. Signing bonus and relocation expenses provided.
