Gastroenterology Physician

Locums - Lexington, Kentucky, GI Hospitalist Job (IMLC Accepted)

Clinical Role:

• Start Date:
  
  ASAP and ongoing until a permanent provider is recruited

• Schedule:
  
  7 on / 7 off rotation (approximately 14 days per month)

Current Coverage Needs:

• March 17-23

• April 14-20

• June 9-15

• July 7-13

• August 4-10

• August 18-24

• September 15-21

• September 29 - October 5

• October 13-19

• October 27 - November 2

• November 24-30

• December 8-14

• December 22-28

Practice Setting:

• Inpatient hospital setting

• GI Hospitalist role

• Manage bread and butter inpatient gastroenterology cases

• Provide ED call coverage and inpatient consultations

• Perform ERCP and routine endoscopy procedures

• Admissions per night: approximately 10

• Daily patient volume: 10-20 patients

• EMR:
  Epic

Support Staff:

• Strong GI support team including 3 dedicated inpatient APPs

• APPs assist with endoscopy procedures and patient management on floors and in the ED

Reason for Coverage:

• Recruiting for a full-time Gastroenterologist

Requirements:

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Gastroenterology - Required

• Kentucky medical license - Highly Preferred (IMLC accepted)

• ERCP capability - Highly Preferred

• ACLS - Required

• DEA - Required
