Extension Assistant for 4-H Youth Development – Jessamine County (
Location:
Nicholasville, KY) will provide administrative support to the 4-H Youth Development program area and the 4-H Youth Development County Agent(s). You will report to an Extension Agent and interact with the general public. The Extension Assistant should be knowledgeable of the philosophy, goals and objectives, policies and procedures of the Cooperative Extension Service. General duties include program support, teaching, recruitment & marketing, and record keeping in a professional manner.
Under supervision, duties include:
- Assist with Quick Books and maintaining budget files
- Promote and organize new 4-H clubs; recruit members and volunteer leaders
- Provide support and guidance to existing 4-H clubs; recruit and work with volunteers for events and activities such as group projects, 4-H achievement events, and public presentation programs
- Serve all clientele
- Conduct background checks: state law requires a national and state criminal background check and a letter from the Cabinet for Health and Family Services stating clear to hire based on no findings of substantiated child abuse or neglect
- No set minimum requirements for education or related experience
- Preferred:
Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access, Publisher, Office 365, Teams, Skype for Business; Zoom) and Quick Books
State law requires a national and state criminal background check and a letter from the Cabinet for Health and Family Services stating the employee is clear to hire. These are conditions of employment or involvement in the program.
