Job Summary
Extension Assistant for 4-H Youth Development – Marion County, Lebanon, KY. The Extension Assistant provides administrative support to the 4-H Youth Development program area and to the County Agent(s). Reports to an Extension Agent and interacts with the general public. The role supports program operations in alignment with the Cooperative Extension Service philosophy, goals, policies and procedures. General duties include program support, teaching, recruitment & marketing, and record keeping while maintaining a professional demeanor.
Under supervision, the Extension Assistant assists with Quick Books and budget files, promotes and organizes new 4-H clubs, recruits members and volunteer leaders, supports existing 4-H clubs, and works with volunteers to conduct events and activities such as group projects, 4-H achievement events, and public presentation programs. The program serves all clientele. State law requires a national and state criminal background check and a letter from the Cabinet for Health and Family Services stating the employee is clear to hire based on no findings of substantiated child abuse or neglect in background checks for child abuse and neglect records.
Salary Range: $15.30 – $18.00

No set minimum requirements. Driver’s License required. Physical requirements include job-related travel; visiting clientele at sites throughout the county (including farms); sitting/standing/walking for long periods; handling of average-weight objects up to 50 lbs. State background check and pre-employment screenings may be required.
Shift: Monday-Friday (8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.); occasional nights, weekends or holidays may be required.

Education or previous experience in working with youth and previous experience in an administrative support role.
