Proposal Development Coordinator

The Proposal Development Coordinator joins an interdisciplinary team of research development professionals to provide comprehensive proposal development guidance and support to UNL faculty, staff, and administrators. The primary responsibilities of the Proposal Development Coordinator are coaching faculty in developing highly competitive grant applications; providing editorial support for single and multi-investigator proposals of various sizes and complexities; taking a leadership role in organizing and managing the pre‑award proposal development process;

problem‑solving with faculty and other staff to maximize efficiency and effectiveness; and actively supporting research growth via building relationships and sharing targeted funding opportunities, providing tailored support to build capacities of researchers and research teams, and collaborating with Center leadership.

Posted Salary: $55,000/yr minimum

Minimum

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in English, journalism, communications, or a relevant scientific discipline plus two (2) years’ demonstrated experience writing and/or editing grant proposals in the public or private sector.
  • Demonstrated excellent writing, editing, and interpersonal communication skills; flexibility, adaptability, and ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects, proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or similar office software; and ability to problem solve and independently make decisions in a deadline‑driven environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Professional experience in a university setting.
