Job Description Qualifications
  • Tenured Special Education teacher, Specialized Services Preferred
  • Excellent cumulative rating on evaluations the past 4 years
  • Appropriate professional certification
  • Master's Degree preferred
Responsibilities of Elementary Specialized Services Curriculum Chair Teacher Support
  • Facilitate communication throughout the district regarding curriculum/content area needs and goals for the Specialized Services program.
  • Provide guidance to improve consistency in grading expectations.
  • Coordinate content area requests for approved supplemental materials/media.
  • Curriculum & Assessment
  • Work with administration and other curriculum chairs to develop content area policies and procedures for grade level appropriate instruction within the Specialized Services Program.
  • Coordination of content area curriculum/objectives.
  • Communication
  • Meet periodically with the Special Education Administrative team.
  • Assist with coordination and leadership of annual institutes/workshops/staff development presentations.
  • Assist in the development of materials for school/community information.
  • Leadership
  • Serve as communication liaison between the administration and the members of the content area.
  • Assist with leadership of curriculum review task forces.
  • Provide leadership in review of instructional materials.
  • Serve as consultant/liaison for oversight of textbooks, instructional materials, strategies and equipment for content area.
  • Compensation: $3,762 Stipend per year
