Job SummaryThe Dean’s Office in the University of Kentucky’s Gatton College of Business & Economics in Lexington, KY seeks to hire a full-time Lecturer beginning March 1, 2026. The selected candidate will be appointed to a twelve-month, non-tenure-eligible faculty position for an initial two-year period that has the potential for renewal and for promotion to Senior Lecturer after five years. The ideal candidate will have a terminal degree in business instructional technology (or related field) with 10 or more years of relevant experience.
One of the focal strategic initiatives for the Gatton College of Business & Economics is the incorporation of technology into the instructional and operational mission of the college. This role emphasizes instructional design, innovative course delivery, and the thoughtful integration of emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), to enhance teaching effectiveness, student engagement, and academic quality. The successful candidate will play a key role in the strategic design, delivery, and support of high-quality synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences, while collaborating with faculty and college leadership to strengthen instructional practices and operational efficiencies.
This lecturer position involves teaching at least two courses per semester at the undergrad and/or master’s level. Teaching responsibilities may include courses on the use of emerging technologies designed to prepare students for the rapidly evolving work environment. This includes working collaboratively with faculty to incorporate emerging technology trends and business best practices into the curriculum, keeping programs and courses relevant and impactful.
The anticipated initial Distribution of Effort will be 40% teaching, 10% service, and 50% administration.
- Teach at least two courses per semester at the undergraduate and/or master’s level, including courses on emerging technologies.
- Collaborate with faculty to incorporate technology trends and business best practices into the curriculum.
- Contribute to the design, delivery, and assessment of high-quality synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences.
- Support instructional practices and operational efficiencies in collaboration with college leadership.
