Job Summary
The Department of Urology at the University of Kentucky College of Medicine is recruiting a research faculty member with a PhD, MD or MD/PhD for a tenure‑track Associate or Professor position. The successful candidate will have a recognized focus on Urologic Oncology. The primary appointments will be in the Department of Urology and the NCI‑designated Markey Cancer Center. Collaboration with members of our multidisciplinary Prostate Cancer team and broadly with investigators in the Markey Cancer Center, basic science and clinical departments is encouraged.
Dual appointment with an appropriate basic science or clinical department will be considered.
Applicants must have a track record of federal funding. Upon arrival to UK, the faculty member will conduct innovative, rigorous grant‑funded research and engage in scholarly activities (peer‑reviewed publications, presentations, etc.). The position supports the broader research effort within the College of Medicine and UK, assists faculty and residents in developing research protocols, and provides mentoring support for faculty and residents’ research endeavors.
Qualifications- PhD, MD, or MD/PhD with a focus on urologic oncology
- Recognized track record of federal funding
- Experience in grant‑funded research and scholarly activities
- Ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams
- Experience mentoring residents and junior faculty (preferred)
- Conduct innovative, rigorous grant‑funded research in urologic oncology
- Publish and present research findings in peer‑reviewed venues
- Develop and mentor research protocols for faculty and residents
- Support broader research initiatives within the College and the Markey Cancer Center
- Engage in teaching and training of Urology residents/medical students
