Position SummaryAssist in providing supervision to individual or groups of students enrolled in the Creative Activities Program (After School Program) and monitor and report student progress.
Essential Job Functions- Conduct a progressive, challenging program for youth.
- Work productively and consistently with the After School Program Supervisor, Head Teacher, parents, youth and community.
- Assist in coordination and distribution of afternoon snacks.
- Maintain bulletin boards.
- Assist in registration, calendar preparation, attendance and student record‑keeping.
- Maintain order and procedures during all activities (classroom, gym, playground, etc.).
- Assist in ordering supplies and maintaining facility and equipment.
- Attend designated orientations and in‑services.
- Transport students to and from activities and assist in preparation as required.
- Monitor and report student behavior and progress; help with homework as necessary.
- Assist in overseeing students during activities.
- Provide supplies inventory as necessary.
- Assist students with emotional support and general guidance.
- Perform routine clerical duties (preparation of instructional materials, operating copy machines, maintaining records).
- Support the lead teacher by setting up activities, work areas, displays, operating audio‑visual equipment and educational training equipment.
- Assist students with physical tasks such as dressing, moving rooms, using the lavatory, and bus travel.
- Consult with the lead teacher on programs and materials.
- Ensure health and safety of students by following practices and regulations.
- Direct group activities and assist in monitoring playground activities, emergency drills, assemblies, play periods and field trips.
- Demonstrate ability to communicate in more than one language or willingness to learn at novice level.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Maintain regular attendance.
Knowledge of basic school subjects, safe practices, correct English usage, interpersonal skills, and basic record‑keeping techniques.
Abilities- Learn child guidance principles and practices.
- Communicate and maintain effective relationships with students, parents, staff and community.
- Perform clerical support for classroom activities.
- Print and write legibly.
- Perform arithmetic quickly and accurately.

- Operate instructional and office equipment.
- High School Diploma or G.E.D. Certificate
- One year experience working with children in an organized setting.
- Standing, sitting and walking for extended periods.
- Use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations.
- Bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, reaching.
- Lift, carry, push or pull light weights.
- Use of speech, vision and hearing to communicate effectively.
- Citizenship, residency or work visa required.
