Reports To: Superintendent’s Designee

Assumes responsibility for helping students resolve non‑academic problems that may interfere with their ability to gain the full benefit from the school’s opportunities and to help them achieve the fullest benefits from programs, services, and offerings.

• Share the responsibility for protecting the education, health, and welfare of students assigned.
• Participate in the development, maintenance, and distribution of student calendars, handbooks, bulletins, and related materials; work with attendance staff on student attendance matters.
• Counsel individual students and, when necessary, make appropriate referrals for testing, guidance, or psychologists, social workers, and other personnel.
• Make recommendations for appropriate revisions of policies and rules affecting students’ lives.
• Serve as an active member of the school’s discipline committee.
• Resolve discipline problems fairly and justly, maintain records of disciplinary action, and confer with parents, teachers, counselors, support personnel, and students on matters of discipline and welfare.
• Counsel students, parents, and teachers regarding student progress, special needs, and preventative and positive approaches to discipline.
• Assist in interpreting school and district programs, policies, and procedures for students.
• Communicate with parents, staff, community, and governmental agencies on problems/solutions relating to individual and group student issues.
• Assist in developing and administering practices related to campus control and security; assist with supervision.
• Analyze data during extended employment.
• Demonstrate the ability to communicate in more than one language or the willingness to learn such communication at a novice level of proficiency.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Maintain regular attendance.

Education and Experience:

• Master’s Degree.
• Three (3) years of successful teaching experience.

Licenses or

Certifications:

• School Principal Certification.

• Work is performed while standing, sitting, and/or walking.
• Requires the ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision, and hearing.
• Requires the use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations.
• Requires bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, reaching.
• Requires the ability to lift, carry, push, or pull light weights.
