Districtwide Achievement & Compliance Coach - Middle Schools

Coordinate and assist the school‑based special education team to support student achievement. Administer, score, and interpret assessments, and maintain special education compliance. Provide technical assistance, professional development training, and support for implementing Kentucky Administration Regulations and the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).
Responsibilities- Complete due process forms accurately and schedule/ chair ARCs according to policies and timelines.
- Assist staff, parents, and others in referral procedures and collecting required information prior to ARC.
- Collect and analyze school‑level data related to achievement gaps within the special education population.
- Prepare reports within specified timelines in conjunction with the evaluation team.
- Participate in decision‑making for program planning and development of IEPs to improve student achievement.
- Enter special education data into the district tracking system.
- Provide professional development on special education issues (due process, eligibility, disability areas, etc.).
- Offer input for efficient scheduling to maximize student access to the general curriculum.
- Guide and coach teams to implement evidence‑based practices based on data.
- Select appropriate assessment instruments for students based on age, needs, and suspected disability.
- Administer, score, and interpret assessments competently.
- Analyze student performance relative to progress in general education curriculum, linking recommendations to strengths and weaknesses to increase college, career, and citizenship readiness.
- Develop and maintain a positive rapport with families and staff.
- Communicate in more than one language or willingness to learn at novice proficiency.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Maintain regular attendance.
Education and Experience:
- Special Education teaching certification.
- Master’s degree in education or related field.
- Minimum three years of successful teaching experience.
- Endorsement for Educational Consultant.
- Working knowledge of IDEA requirements.
- Knowledge of due process procedures (referral, timelines, ARC).
- Experience administering and interpreting educational assessments (preferred).
- Kentucky Certification in Special Education.
- Endorsement for Teacher Consultant (eligible holder of Rank II and 3 years of Special Education teaching experience) or Director of Special Education Certification.
- Standing, sitting, and/or walking.
- Effective communication using speech, vision, and hearing.
- Use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations.
- Bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, reaching.
- Ability to lift, carry, push or pull light weights.
$50,586 to $89,619 per year (salary schedule applies).
