The purpose of an Automotive Technology Instructor is to prepare students for successful careers in the automotive industry by providing high‑quality technical instruction, hands‑on training, and professional guidance.
Job DutiesProvide classroom and laboratory instruction in automotive systems such as:
- Engine repair and performance
- Braking systems
- Steering and suspension
- Electrical and electronic systems
- HVAC systems
- Automatic and manual transmissions
- Instruction should align with industry standards (ASE guidelines) and current automotive technologies.
Ensure students gain practical, real‑world experience through:
- Shop-based lab activities
- Diagnostic procedures
- Use of industry standard tools and equipment
- Safety practices and OSHA compliance
Prepare students for employment by:
- Teaching professionalism, work ethic, and teamwork
- Emphasizing customer service skills
- Preparing students for ASE certification exams
- Assisting with internships, co‑ops, and job placement opportunities
- Associate degree or higher in Automotive Technology or related field AND 3 years related work experience AND appropriate current certifications/licenses required for the course.
- A minimum of 5 years work experience in the field AND appropriate current certifications/licenses required for the course.

Preferred Qualifications- ASE Advanced Level Specialist certification
