Job Summary

Part‑time ESL faculty are chosen on an as‑needed basis for selected day and evening classes on various campuses and/or online. Applicants will be contacted by the ESL Coordinator when courses become available. This posting will remain open to retain a pool of qualified applicants. Job Duties:

As an adjunct faculty instructor, you will be required to teach assigned courses following the assigned mode of instruction:
In‑person (two days per week), Hybrid (in‑person one day per week paired with online instruction), or Standard Online/Asynchronous (fully-online with no required in‑person meetings). Other duties include maintaining an updated gradebook on Blackboard, weekly announcements, and timely communication with students throughout the semester.

Minimum Qualifications:

For ESL Courses Numbered 100 or Above:
  • Master’s degree in linguistics, Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL), or Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL)
  • Master’s degree AND 18 graduate semester hours in linguistics, Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL), or Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL)
  • Master’s degree AND either Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL) certification, ESL endorsement, or experience teaching ESL
For ESL Courses Numbered Below 100:
  • Bachelor’s degree in linguistics, Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL) or Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL)
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field AND either certification in teaching ESL populations or experience teaching ESL
