Job Summary

Assumes responsibility for helping students resolve non-academic problems that may interfere with their educational progress and helps them gain benefits from school programs, services, and offerings.

• Shares responsibility for protecting students’ education, health, and welfare.
• Participates in developing, maintaining, and distributing student calendars, handbooks, and bulletins; works with attendance personnel.
• Counsels students and refers to testing, guidance, psychologists, social workers as needed.
• Recommends policy and rule revisions affecting students.
• Serves on the school’s discipline committee.
• Resolves discipline problems fairly, maintains records, and consults parents, teachers, counselors, support personnel, and students.
• Provides counseling on student progress, special needs, and preventive discipline strategies.
• Assists in interpreting school and district programs, policies, and procedures.
• Communicates with parents, staff, community, and government agencies on student issues.
• Supports campus control and security practices and assists with supervision.
• Analyzes data during extended employment.
• Demonstrates ability to communicate in multiple languages or willingness to learn.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Maintains regular attendance.

Education and Experience:

• Master’s Degree
• Three (3) years of successful teaching experience

Licenses or

Certifications:

• School Principal Certification

• Work performed while standing, sitting, and/or walking.
• Requires effective communication using speech, vision, and hearing.
• Requires use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations.
• Requires bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, reaching.
• Requires ability to lift, carry, push or pull light weights.
