Granite Technical Institute – CTE – Health Sciences/Pharmacy Technician Teacher (1.0 FTE)The Granite Technical Institute is seeking a qualified and motivated Career and Technical Education (CTE) Pharmacy Technician Teacher to join our team for the 2026–2027 school year. The teacher may be responsible for teaching the following concurrent enrollment courses:
- Pharmacy Tech
The health science instructor will be responsible for teaching the state approved curriculum for the Pharmacy Technician course with an emphasis on supporting students in building skills necessary for further training, entry into employment and/or completion of an externship with the ability to pass the DOPL Pharmacy Technician licensure test.
Qualifications- A valid Professional Educator License issued by the Utah State Board of Education with a Secondary or CTE License Area of Concentration with a pharmacy technician endorsement.
- A valid Associate Educator License issued by the Utah State Board of Education with a Secondary or CTE License Area of Concentration with a pharmacy technician endorsement.
- An equivalent license in another state with an endorsement comparable to a pharmacy technician endorsement.
- Hold a current Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacist DOPL license and must have a minimum of 3 years industry experience (5 years experience preferred).
- Must be able to pass all classroom and lab safety requirement.
- Ability to maintain an orderly classroom environment.
- Knowledge of and ability to use computers and instructional technology.
- Willingness to involve students in HOSA and prepare them for participation at the district, state, and national levels.
- Knowledge of Health Science Career Pathways and the ability to teach related content.
- Ability to support students in the DOPL licensing process for Pharmacy Technicians.
- Willingness to work with industry partners to prepare students for externships and entry‑level opportunities in the pharmaceutical industry.
- Ability and willingness to collaborate with industry partners to align classroom instruction with workforce skill needs.
- Ability and willingness to collaborate with colleagues in Professional Learning Communities (PLCs).
- Ability to use and implement approved curriculum maps.
- Ability to evaluate student academic progress using a variety of formal and informal assessments.
- Ability to communicate student academic progress to parents through a variety of formats.
- Ability and willingness to use technology and hands‑on learning practices to enhance student engagement and instruction.
- Ability and willingness to implement proficiency‑based grading practices.
- Ability to build positive working relationships with students, staff, administration, business partners, parents, and the community.

Under the direction of the school principal, the classroom teacher is responsible for creating a positive learning environment where students develop the skills to become critical thinkers, problem solvers, lifelong learners and productive citizens. Teachers maintain a safe environment; establish rapport with students, parents and colleagues; motivate students to develop skills, attitudes, and knowledge needed to provide a good foundation for further education and do so in accordance with each student’s ability.
Teachers differentiate curriculum and use effective research‑based methods of instruction. Implement Proficiency‑Based Grading in Student Evaluations.
- Maintain a safe, orderly classroom environment following all required safety procedures including HIPAA.
- Utilize lab equipment to apply concepts found in USBE’s CTE Core Curriculum.
- Teach the core content area(s) outlined in the USBE’s Core Curriculum, and adopted by the Board of Education, correlated with other approved learning activities.
