Transylvania University ((Use the "Apply for this Job" box below).), a top-tier, independent, residential liberal arts college in Lexington, Kentucky, invites applications for the position of Visiting Assistant Professor of Business Administration. This is a one-year, full-time, non‑tenure‑track position, teaching in‑person classes, beginning August 26, 2026. To that end, we seek to attract a diverse faculty skilled in the scholarship of teaching, research, and mentorship of students from a variety of backgrounds. Candidates are encouraged, in their cover letter, to identify their strengths and experiences in creating an inclusive academic community.
The Business Administration program is an exclusively undergraduate program that emphasizes innovative, hands‑on teaching in small class settings. The successful candidate will have expertise in finance. Applicants with an interest in corporate finance or investment management are particularly encouraged to apply.
- Teach Introduction to Business, Personal Finance, Financial Management, Investment Analysis, and Financial Planning.
- Teach a fall term load of three courses and a winter term load of three courses (3‑3).
- Provide service to the university through program support, attendance at faculty meetings, and other on‑campus activities.
A Ph.D., MBA, or master’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field is required by the start date.
Desired qualifications include a strong commitment to undergraduate teaching in a liberal arts setting and experience teaching at the undergraduate level. Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to continuing their own professional work, to teaching, to interdisciplinary dialogue, and to working collaboratively with other faculty and with students both within the Business Administration program and across disciplines in a liberal arts environment.
