SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIESThis position is responsible for assisting in the coordination, creation, and implementation of supports for Multilingual Learners (MLs) and their families. The role requires supporting the coordination of resources and partnerships in conjunction with diverse community stakeholders and providing direct service to MLs and their families.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:INSTRUCTOR I BILINGUAL ASSOCIATE
- High School Diploma or G.E.D.
- Passing Score on the Kentucky Para-educator Assessment or 48 college hours
- Demonstrated proficiency in two (2) languages, English and the appropriate language.
- Experience working with children and parents with special needs, multi-cultural and multi-ethnic backgrounds.
- Knowledge or receptiveness to the philosophy, policy, and methodology of the U.S. educational system.
INSTRUCTOR II BILINGUAL ASSOCIATE
- Associate Degree or approved equivalent training (64 college semester hours) and experience.
- One year of successful experience in a related field.
- Demonstrated proficiency in two (2) languages, English and the appropriate language.
- Experience working with children and parents with special needs, multi-cultural and multi-ethnic backgrounds.
- Knowledge or receptiveness to the philosophy, policy, and methodology of the U.S. educational system.
INSTRUCTOR III BILINGUAL ASSOCIATE
- Three (3) years of successful teaching experience.
- Demonstrated proficiency in two (2) languages, English and the appropriate language.
- Experience working with children and parents with special needs, multi-cultural and multi-ethnic backgrounds.
- Knowledge or receptiveness to the philosophy, policy, and methodology of the U.S. educational system.
Exam Requirement:
If your highest education is High School or GED you must take and pass the Kentucky Para-educator Assessment Exam. The exam is free and you have three chances to obtain a passing score.
