Position SummaryAssumes responsibility for helping students resolve non‑academic problems that may interfere with their academic success, aiding them to achieve full benefits from school programs and services.
Essential Job Functions- Shares responsibility for protecting the education, health, and welfare of assigned students.
- Participates in development, maintenance, and distribution of student calendars, handbooks, bulletins.
- Collaborates with attendance personnel on all matters of student attendance.
- Counsels students and, when necessary, refers them for testing, guidance, psychologists, social workers, and other personnel.
- Recommends policy and rule revisions affecting student life.
- Is an active member of the school’s discipline committee.
- Resolves discipline problems fairly, maintains disciplinary records, and consults with parents, teachers, counselors, and support personnel.
- Counsels parents and teachers about student progress, special needs, and preventive approaches to discipline.
- Assists in interpreting school and district programs, policies, and procedures.
- Communicates with parents, staff, community, and government agencies on student issues.
- Assists in developing and administering practices for campus security and supervision.
- Analyzes data during extended employment.
- Demonstrates ability to communicate in more than one language or willingness to learn.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Maintains regular attendance.
Education and Experience:
- Master’s Degree
- Three (3) years of successful teaching experience
Licenses or
Certifications:
- School Principal Certification
- Standing, sitting, walking.
- Effective speech, vision, and hearing communication.
- Use of hands for simple grasping and manipulation.
- Bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, reaching.
- Lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling light weights.
