26-27 Teacher Transfer Instructions:

Transfer requests for this position will not be considered after 8/7/2026.

For more information regarding the JCTA Teacher Transfer Process see the attached Article 16 document.

At this time, current teachers applying for a transfer will be considered to fill the position in February of 2027.

Scope of Responsibilities:

Plans, organizes and delivers the program of instruction based on approved curriculum; monitors, evaluates, and communicates student progress; maintains records and makes reports; enforces Board policies, regulations, and rules; supervises students, and secures and maintains school property and materials.

Minimum Qualifications:

• 1. Kentucky certification appropriate to the grade level and curricular assignment
• 2. Experience and preparation required by the Board
• 3. Effective communication skills

QUALIFICATIONS:

• 1. Experience in a diverse workplace.

Requirements to be an Occupation Based Teacher:

• Applicant must be a US Citizen with a high school diploma or GED.
• Four (4) years of successful and appropriate occupational experience in the teaching area. A maximum of one (1) year of the required work experience may be satisfied by completion of an accredited occupational preparation program for the occupation to be taught; and,
• At least two (2) years of the occupational experience completed within the last five (5) years.
• Meet Occupation-based teaching requirements (see attached Occ Based CTE Requirements and Hiring Procedures document)
• Issuance of one year Provisional Certificate; completion of three (3) semester hours of credit in the occupational area OR successfully completing the New Teacher Institute (NTI)
