The School of Movement and Rehabilitation Science at Bellarmine University invites applications for an adjunct faculty member to assist with PT 680:
Physical Therapy Management of the Patient with Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Disease during the Fall 2026 semester.

The course examines the physical therapy evaluation, treatment, and management of patients with cardiovascular and pulmonary conditions. Students develop the knowledge and clinical skills necessary to assess cardiopulmonary function, recognize indications and contraindications for intervention, monitor patient responses to activity, and design safe, evidence-based plans of care.

The course is scheduled to meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1:30 to 3:50 p.m. during the Fall 2026 semester.

The adjunct faculty member will work collaboratively with the course instructor and may be responsible for:

• Attending and actively participating in all assigned laboratory sessions.
• Demonstrating and reinforcing appropriate examination, intervention, monitoring, and patient-management techniques.
• Providing students with constructive, timely feedback regarding their clinical skills, techniques, clinical reasoning, and professional communication.
• Supporting students as they practice the safe application of cardiopulmonary assessment and treatment procedures.
• Assisting with the preparation, administration, and evaluation of practical examinations and other skills-based assessments.
• Delivering selected lectures or instructional content based on the adjunct faculty member''s area of clinical expertise and the needs of the course.
• Assisting with the review and grading of assignments, practical examinations, and other course assessments as needed.
• Promoting an engaging, inclusive, and supportive learning environment that encourages clinical reasoning, professionalism, and evidence-based practice.
• Communicating regularly with the course instructor regarding student progress, instructional needs, and any concerns that arise during the semester.

The ideal candidate will have clinical experience in cardiovascular and pulmonary physical therapy or a closely related area, a commitment to student learning, and the ability to effectively demonstrate and explain clinical concepts and techniques.

• BA, MS, or DPT in Physical Therapy
• License to practice Physical Therapy in Kentucky
